Mother of: Sarah
Venue: Olympia Fields Country Club, suburban Chicago
Vibe: Black Tie
Dress: Carolina Herrera ball gown skirt and blouse set

With the bridesmaids in pink and the groomsmen in classic black tuxedos, mother of the bride Julie punctuated the party in a blue and white floral ball gown skirt and blouse.Â
âI wanted something that would speak to Sarahâs fun personality and still be elegant at the same time,â says Julie. âIt was the perfect combination of Jackie O meets Princess Dianaâmy two favorite style icons.â If the print evokes hints of the loveliest centerpiece, thatâs no accidentâit was inspired by vintage porcelain, according to the brand.Â

Julie fell in love with the design at first sight online, but continued to shop around for a couple of months because, well, âI was a big investment!â But worth it, Julie says. âI will wear this Carolina Herrera set for years (you can still find it in select sizes). Iâll pair the blouse with beautiful white pants and Iâm thinking the ball skirt would look stunning with a simple, elevated white t-shirt and pearls.âÂ

The August wedding took place at the Olympia Fields Country Club in suburban Chicago. Sarah and groom Ryan âShare a love of travel, food, dining, and golf,â says Julie, who planned every aspect of the event with her daughter. âWe had a blast togetherâshe had a vision and I helped execute.âÂ

Of course, donât expect perfection, Julie advises other families with a wedding on the horizon. âWedding days are never really âperfect.â Sarah and Ryan enjoyed every moment and didnât allow minor problems or details to derail their day. When you see the joining of two hearts come together perfectlyâthatâs a moment to be celebrated.â
