We are so proud of our national — heck, international — Mother Of community. Women from California to New York, Colorado to Texas, France to Spain—supporting each other, encouraging each other, and showing off what it means to be a modern mother of the bride or groom.

Minneapolis is our home, where co-founders Ali and Betsey live. As you've no doubt seen and heard, it's been a trying time in Minneapolis with the immigration crackdown and recent killings of two U.S. citizens on our streets, by federal agents. Not going to sugar coat it: this surge has been disorienting, heartbreaking and devastating to our small business community. 

That beautiful line by poet Toi Derricotte has been top of mind for us: "Joy is an act of resistance." And it is with that energy that we bring you our first-ever hometown pop-up shopping event: Mother Of: The February Edit. This is a much-needed opportunity to get together and celebrate moms on the cusp of a milestone event. And also, it's a way to show some love to small retailers and several women-owned businesses that could use the boost. We're partnering with the 50th & France Association and local special occasion boutique Dugo.

Whether you're local to the Twin Cities or making a weekend of it, we hope you'll join us! Here's everything you need to know:

The Dresses

We'll have the latest dresses to try on from some of our favorite national brands, including Teri Jon, Kay Unger, Theia, Adrianna Papell, Alex Evenings, Alexander by Daymor and Camilyn Beth

Note: The dresses we'll have on hand are samples, so you can find your style and size and then place your order online.

The Boutiques

We'll have even more dresses and accessories from local retail partner, the special occasion dress shop Dugo, and other boutiques in the 50th & France shopping district, including: June Resale, Bumbershute and The Fitting Room and Evereve, with outfit ideas for the many parties leading up to the wedding

Beauty

Bespoke Hair Artisans will join Mother Of's go-to beauty guru Fatima Olive to offer touch ups for your dress selfie moments, and hair and makeup advice for the big day (or every day!). Plus:

• Senti will share fragrance inspiration
• Sigma Beauty will share some of its latest makeup products
