Classic is always in style—like an elegant shirtdress gown and a grandmother with impeccable taste.
Lina chose shirtdress gowns for each of her granddaughters' New York weddings: black and white for Caroline's in 2021 and gold for Meghan's in 2023. Both from Teri Jon by Rickie Freeman, which always has variations on the classic shirtdress gown in it's collection—many up to size 22—for this very reason.
"My mom has always been a classic dresser. She knows what looks good on her and she insisted on the shirtdress style," says Lina's daughter Maggie. "She loved the three quarter sleeves, the tight waist, the collar—to hide her neck–and the pockets! I still remember when she put the first one on, she was like a young girl again."
Grandma Lina recently turned 95. Pop that collar, Lina—we'd all like to look as elegant as you do in a shirtdress!
Shirtdress gowns and separates are great for mothers of the bride and groom too. For inspiration, check out Marie.
