When you live in rural Arkansas, shopping for a mother of the bride dress happens online, and online only. But Nancy didnāt get caught in a doom scrolling spiral. She ordered four dresses and fell in love with one: a strapless A-line made of rose pink Italian cloque fabric with multi-colored embroidery on the fitted bodice, created by Sachin & Babi artisans at their family atelier in Mumbai.Ā Ā
"I absolutely adored the color," says Nancy, whose daughter Kelly married Christopher in August, 2025. "Kelly and I both love color, and I wanted my gown to fit the overall vibe and style of the wedding day."Ā
The bride is a pro: she runs wedding planning and floral business Southern Bloom in Little Rock, Arkansas. Her wedding reception at the Memphis Botanic Garden brimmed with colorful floral arrangements, and Nancy's dress reflected that aesthetic.Ā
With the floral embroidery on the dress bodice, Nancy kept her accessories to a minimum. Kelly gifted her mom a vintage pearl and diamond cocktail ring on the wedding day. "It was the perfect addition to my look," Nancy says.
Nancy ordered Sachin & Babi's Hug Shawl by Sachin & Babi to match her dressāthe wrap is designed to fit like part of the gown and was just the right touch for the church ceremony.Ā
"I never imagined wearing strapless, but with the shawl, it was the perfect choice for me," Nancy says. "My advice would be to order several different styles and silhouettes because what you choose may surprise you!"Ā
