High school sweethearts in Texas, Peyton and Parker hightailed it to Colorado shortly after graduating from Texas Tech University to embrace their shared love of the outdoors. So when it came time to plan their July 2022 wedding, the couple wanted the mountains to play a starring role. Guests rode gondolas up to the top of Vail Mountain for the service and traveled back down to the Arrabelle Hotel in Vail Village for the reception. “The day was a dream come true,” says mother of the bride Michelle.
As set as she was on the locale, the bride was completely open-minded about her mom’s dress. Michelle shopped online, which she loved. “It allowed me the privacy and time to try on dresses multiple times before I made the final decision,” she says.
In the end, she chose almost the first dress she tried: a floor length sleeveless v-neck with a nude base and sheer black lace overlay (see a similar style from Dress the Population). “I knew it was the one,” Michelle says. “Unique and not matronly.”
The wedding was basically a destination wedding for everyone but the bride and groom “Having friends and family travel so far was incredibly special to my husband Duane and I.” But seeing their daughter and the love of her life make it official against the backdrop of their beloved mountains, well that, says Michelle, “was simply perfect.”
