A single mother who raised two girls on her own, nightly affirmations centered on being self-sufficient—not finding a husband.
"I always taught them to be career oriented," Mich recalls. "Take care of yourself first, then find someone who is your equal and forge a great partnership."
Her daughter Allison was working in New York when she met Adam. They dated for four years before moving to his native England, where they got engaged and, after a Covid delay, eventually held their wedding at Warmwell House, a picturesque Jacobean Manor in Dorset.
"I wanted to wear black," Mich says. "That's who I am." She set out to find a mother-of-the-bride dress that "wasn't trying to look 40, but also wasn't matronly" and knew the one as she spotted it on a rack at Bergdorf Goodman on a trip to New York: floor length with a halter style neck to show off her shoulders.
"I know my silhouette," she says. "I felt understated, and great!"
