The Jersey Shore is a special spot for Colleen and Nick; he grew up in Spring Lake and she spent childhood summers in the neighboring beach town Sea Girt. The couple chose Spring Lake for their October 2024 wedding.
Both the bride and her mom, Mary Sue, love the color blue. With the bridesmaids in navy, including Colleen’s two sisters as maids of honor, Mary Sue knew she wanted to coordinate with her daughters. She found a gown that allowed her to do just that, while also providing a moment of her own: A sleeveless A-line navy jacquard floral with gold metallic embroidery by Shoshanna, from Saks Fifth Avenue (this pretty gown is sold out, but search for the "Serra" and it might come up on a resale site).
It was actually one of the first dresses Mary Sue tried on, and after ordering and returning many others, she knew this dress was something special.
“It made me feel the most elegant while being extremely comfortable,” Mary Sue says. With the all over print on the dress, she kept accessories to a minimum: gold earrings and a gold charm bracelet she’s had since she was a girl.
It’s tough to pick just one favorite moment from the wedding, Mary Sue says. The memories that stand out for this MOB: “Seeing Colleen and Nick so relaxed up on the altar of beautiful St. Catharine Church, cocktails on the upper deck of the Spring Lake Bath & Tennis Club and listening to wedding toasts by Colleen’s sisters and father."
And with the ocean as a backdrop on a gorgeous fall day, the navy dresses were the perfect complement.
