Venue: Our Lady of Lourdes (ceremony), Nicollet Island Pavilion (reception), Minneapolis
Vibe: Semi-formal
Dress: Xscape

Mary’s mother of the bride shopping experience was about as ideal as they come: She made an appointment at special occasion dress boutique, and chose the first dress she tried on. She didn’t even need any alterations.

Sincerely Susan is an appointment-only shop in the Kansas City area specializing in mothers of the bride and groom. Mary brought her daughter Amy (the bride), her sister, and a friend along with her to help make the decision. “It was a fun experience,” she says. “I loved having someone bring the dresses to me. To look through their entire selection on my own would have been extremely overwhelming. I felt like I was being pampered and loved having my crew with me!”

Mary went in knowing she wanted a floor length navy gown. “I tend to gravitate to blues,” she says. Navy seemed like a nice complement to the bridesmaids’ dusty blue.

She chose an off-the-shoulder gown by Xscape with a sweetheart neckline that mirrored her daughter’s wedding dress. “Her bridal gown did not have any bling, lace, or tulle, so I wanted to keep mine simple and elegant like hers.”

Amy and David’s wedding took place Aug 30, 2024 in Minneapolis with a church ceremony followed by a reception at Nicollet Island Pavilion on the edge of the Mississippi River overlooking downtown.

“I have so many wonderful memories of the day, but my most cherished memory is the feeling I had the moment Amy began her walk down the aisle. She was absolutely stunning, and it was a joy-filled moment,” Mary says. “The weather was perfect, and the venue was breathtaking. The wedding ceremony was stunning, and the reception and dance were unforgettable. Every moment of the day was truly extraordinary!
