Venue: Misselwood Events in Beverly, Mass.
Vibe: Coastal elegance
Dress: Sachin & Babi
High school sweethearts who grew up on Boston’s North Shore, Emma and AJ knew they wanted to get married somewhere near home, on the ocean. On a 70 degree November day, they visited Misselwood, an oceanfront estate on the campus of Endicott College in Beverly, Mass, and immediately put down their deposit.

With the sea as a backdrop for the June, 2024 wedding, mother of the bride Kerin knew she wanted a dress with a “summery, coastal vibe.” The bride told her mom to wear whatever she loved and felt comfortable in.

“I knew I wanted something sleeveless and a little non-traditional,” Kerin says. “The bridesmaids were wearing a combination of solids and florals in blues, greens and lilac, so I didn't want to compete with anything floral.”
When she spotted Sachin & Babi’s “Rori” dress online in blue/gray and cream toile, “I knew it would be perfect for me.” The all-over print featured palm trees and swans, but you almost have to look close to make out the details of the delicate pattern.
Kerin kept her eye on the dress for weeks while shopping around. “When I saw it marked down for Black Friday, I took that as a sign to grab it,” Kerin says. It was a bit of a gamble: the dress was final sale. “If I had to make alterations, I was ok with that. But it fit perfectly.” The only change she made to the sleeveless A-line dress was a slight cinch of the V-neckline.
“I loved the fun tropical toile pattern with swans and palm trees. It was elegant and stylish with a bit of whimsy,” Kerin says. “I felt so comfortable and beautiful in it.”

She Googled “most comfortable shoes for a wedding” and landed in Loeffler Randall pleated twist sandals with a block heel. She kept her accessories simple: just a pretty pair of Julie Vos medallion earrings in colors that matched the dress.
They couldn’t have asked for a more picture perfect day: clear blue skies and the ocean as a backdrop. The bride and groom wrote their own vows. Says Kerin, “Listening to Emma and AJ read their vows to each other in front of family and friends was one of my favorite memories.”
