A formal spring wedding in Florida with lots of color and florals. The bride, Lillian, had two specific requests for what her mom should wear: hot pink, and nothing "old lady-ish."
Well, it did help narrow the shopping field for mother of the bride Nicole Heran.
She started her search at Bella Bridesmaids in Miami, where the staff insisted she try on Teri Jon's ever-popular one shoulder side ruffle gown, which comes in many colors and fabrications. She understood why moms feel great in this silhouette: "It was flattering, pretty but not over the top; formal yet fun."
But it wasn't pink.
Some months later, breezing through Bloomingdale's, a hot pink dress caught her eye, and what do you know, it was the same one shoulder, side ruffle style. "It's definitely HOT pink," Nicole joked.
With her hair in an updo, Nicole accessorized in tiered orange and metallic butterfly earrings by Kendra Scott.
The vibrant colors only added to the joy of the day, Nicole said. But the memory that really stands out is seeing Lillian's broad smile as she waltzed down the aisle toward groom Andrew.
