Cindy B.: Winning Formula

Cindy B.: Winning Formula

Mother of: Alex
Venue: Greenhouse Two Rivers in Highlandville, Missouri
Vibe: Classic formal
Dress: Teri Jon

At this point, it’s fair to call Cindy a Teri Jon devotee. Cindy wore a navy and silver Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon one shoulder stunner for her daughter’s wedding in March. Six months later, for her son’s storybook black tie wedding near Springfield, Missouri, it was Teri Jon for the win, once again.

“Within minutes of trying other designers, I knew I had to do Teri Jon again,” says Cindy, who also chose a Teri Jon dress (knee length and patterned, with puff sleeves) for the rehearsal dinner.

The toughest decision was which Teri Jon to wear for her turn as mother of the groom. Cindy had all but settled on a slate blue dress when she learned the couple wanted an all black wedding.

“I’m old enough to remember the rule that you don’t wear black to a wedding,” Cindy says. “But I’ve evolved, and it was perfect.” Her dress was a vision of modern glamor: a one shoulder Italian crepe floor length gown with a one shoulder chiffon cape with bow. “It was meant to be. I immediately took the slate blue dress back and never thought of it again.”

She paired her perfect black dress with a closed toe black heel by Badgley Mischka. She wore the same small pearl drop earrings that she chose for her daughter’s wedding.

The wedding took place on a perfect fall day at the picturesque Greenhouse Two Rivers event venue. A dozen bridesmaids and a dozen groomsmen were all dressed in black.

Alex and his bride, Darian, both attended the University of Missouri. As fate would have it, they met in a class called “Intimate Relationships and Marriage.” Darian was a Mizzou Golden Girl and after graduation, she danced for the Denver Broncos. “There was a lot of dancing at the reception” Cindy says. Complete with pom poms for the bride’s friends/backup dancers.

“The second time around, I was a little more relaxed about everything,” Cindy says. “Wear what makes you feel good so you can enjoy one of the best days ever!”
