Christina L: Desert Chic

Christina L: Desert Chic

Mother of: Hunter
Venue: Backyard of bride's family home in Scottsdale, Arizona
Vibe: Desert Chic
Dress: Petal and Pup from Nordstrom

Right after her son Hunter got engaged to Daryn, Christina bought a pair of shimmering Deepa Gurani beaded tassel earrings. “I had no idea what the dress would be,” she says, “but I knew I wanted to wear those earrings.”

It all fell into place from there: the first dress Christina tried on was the winner, a pleated maxi in palm green by Petal and Pup. (This affordable brand delivers many too-good-to-be-true occasion dresses.)

The November wedding took place in the backyard of the bride’s family home in Scottsdale. “We all wanted to let the desertscape shine, so we picked our clothes accordingly,” Christina says. “Fall in Arizona is also some of the best weather of the year, which gave us a lot of freedom in our choices.”

Christina says she was drawn to the “gorgeous pleats and flow” of her dress. Not only did it fit perfectly, “It was so fun to wear. I loved the way it swayed when I walked and danced.”

She wanted heels that shimmered, just like those earrings, but prioritized a block style open toe sandal by CL by Laundry for comfort. (And then switched into sneakers once the dancing was underway.)

“Hunter and Daryn’s day was so full of love. We were all so happy to celebrate them!”
