Joey was in the hospital, fighting for his life after a drunk driver hit him on his motorcycle. HIs mom Beth reached out to Robyn, who he dated briefly in high school, and asked her to pray for Joey.Â

âFrom that point on, Robyn never left his side,â Beth recounts. âThrough those long, dark days, Robyn was Joeyâs light.â As Joey recovered, he and Robyn began to date again. Once Joey was out of the Army, he joined Robyn in Denver and then asked her to marry him.
The couple returned home to Texas for their November, 2025 wedding at The Mansion at Colovista, a picturesque property outside of Austin, nestled along the Colorado River. Â

As mother of the groom, Beth waited for the brideâs mom to pick her dress â in champagne lace - before selecting her own.Â
âI wanted it to be classic and elegant,â she says. Beth selected a sleeveless column gown by Kay Unger (currently out of stock, add you name to this waitlist to be notified when itâs available again). Made in a luxe textured fabric. Beth liked the structure. And she loved the deep blue green with swirls of pink and gold. Bottom line: âIt wasnât a basic navy.âÂ

Allâs well that ends well, but finding her dream dress was no easy feat. âMost moms arenât a size 2,â Beth says. âIt was so hard finding a dress in a size 14/16 in the stores.â As for shopping online, she says: âI would love to see average size people modeling the clothes.â
The highlight of the wedding day for Beth was dancing with her son to Her Little Man by Jami Grooms. âTo see him so happy and healthy after all heâs been through,â Beth says, âdancing with him was an honor.âÂ
