Beth L.: City of Love

Mother of: Andrew
Venue: Museum of the American Revolution and Philadelphia Mariott Old City
Vibe: Downtown cocktail
Dress: Rickie Freeman for Teri Jon

Beth ordered three dresses as options for her son Andrew’s July wedding to Allison. The couple met seven years ago at a Halloween party in Philadelphia, and the wedding was a reflection of their life together in Old City Philly: ceremony at the American Revolutionary Museum, reception at the Old City Marriott, rehearsal dinner at Positano’s—all within four city blocks of where they live.

The bridesmaids wore dusty rose. The mother of the bride dressed in royal blue. The bride and groom didn’t give Beth any instructions about what they wanted her to wear. “I wanted to compliment Allison’s wedding party look,” says this mother of the groom.

Beth’s vision: “Simple lines, but fashionable. I wanted something that felt comfortable to wear all day and dance all night at the reception.”

The winning look came from Bergdorf Goodman: A hot pink draped one shoulder gown with floral appliquĂ© at the shoulder and a side slit for easier movement on the dance floor. “It checked all the boxes of a MOG dress,” Beth says. She paired it with gold open toe heels by Sarah Flint and confirms: “They were very fashionable along with being extremely comfortable for standing and dancing.”

“It was a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception for my son and his new wife. , Allison. The day was filled with all the family and friends that came near & far to celebrate their love.
