Andreanna V.: Vineyard Greens

Andreanna V.: Vineyard Greens

Mother of: Olivia
Venue: Gainey Vineyards, Santa Ynez, California
Vibe: Vineyard chic
Dress: Solace London from Mytheresa

When the custom dress she ordered from a local seamstress hadn’t arrived just a couple of weeks before her daughter Olivia’s wedding, Andreanna got nervous, and went shopping for a backup.

“When I started to panic, I immediately went to shop in person. I felt it was too late to try and order something online,” Andreanna says. “I went to all my local department stores at the Stanford Shopping Center, but couldn't find anything just right.”

Andreanna had decided to commission a dress in canary yellow from a 1963 Vogue pattern. It took longer to make than expected. Her daughter found a dress online that brought down Andreanna’s blood pressure, thanks to express shipping. It was an off-the-shoulder dress by Solace London in sweet pea green. “I know it sounds off-putting, but it really worked with my skin tone and the greens of the vines at the venue.”

The destination wedding took place north of Santa Barbara at Gainey Vineyards, with sweeping views of the Santa Ynez Valley. It’s a special place for Oliva and her family: she served as a flower girl there as a little girl, when her mom’s friend got married. “We used to visit and wine taste when my dad was alive and he holds a very special place in Olivia’s heart,” Andreanna says.

Olivia and her spouse Emily chose a color palette of yellows and greens to match the setting.

When the green dress arrived, “all three of my daughters said it was the one,” Andreannna says. This was my second wedding—I think I was more relaxed this time around and when my youngest daughter gets married I will know the exact things I will want in a dress. Third time’s a charm!”

Sweet touch: Andreanna added a gardenia to the waist of her dress (rather than a wrist corsage). She wore a mutlicolored coral, green, and yellow Steve Madden heel for an added punch, and carried a vintage beaded bag.

“My favorite moment was walking up the aisle and seeing Emily look at my daughter Olivia,” Andreanna says. “I’ll never forget the tears in her eyes and the look on her face and I knew immediately that she loved our Liv as much as we did.”
