Amy A.: Autumn Glam

Amy A.: Autumn Glam

Mother of: Alexandra
Venue: Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and Hall of Kings in Minneapolis
Vibe: Autumn glam
Dress: Rene Ruiz

When Alexandra and Brandon chose an October 2025 wedding date, the bride knew what she wanted, and what she didn’t want. “I did not want my fall wedding to lean bohemian or ‘harvest’ in any way,” she says. “I wanted romantic autumnal glamour.”

That meant loads of candles, flowers in deep reds and oranges, bridesmaids in metallic copper. And for Amy, the mother of the bride, it meant a strapless fit and flare gold brocade gown by Rene Ruiz.

“It took my breath away,” Alexandra says. “My mom has a very regal, statuesque beauty, and my hope for her was something that emphasized that. I loved this dress on her. More importantly, though, I loved how much she loved it.”

MOB Amy says she’s glad she took her daughter’s advice and decided to step out of her usual black or navy to “go for the glam!”

“I loved the fit and flare of the dress; it allowed for a bit of drama without a train to get in the way of walking or dancing.”

Amy was nearly as excited about her accessories: Mestiza leaf drop earrings, Reformation block heel sandals in gold, which she says were so comfortable she didn’t even think about taking them off. She carried a gold flower clutch, and thanks to a BOGO from Verano Hill, she got one for her daughter as well.

“My mom was beyond helpful—that is just her nature,” Alexandra says. “She understood my vision from the very beginning and helped bring it to life.”

While creating their own flower arrangements for the rehearsal dinner, Amy and Alexandra listened to the playlist the bride and groom put together for post-ceremony their cocktail hour. “It was one of my favorite things we did,” Alexandra recalls. “Putting together something for the rehearsal was a fun way to feel hands-on.”

Alexandra and Brandon’s ceremony took place at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Minneapolis, which was surrounded by trees in peak autumn golds. Guests were able to take in the fall colors along the Mississippi River during the short walk down the cobblestone Main Street from church to the historic Hall of Kings where the cocktail hour and reception took place. The venue’s stone walls, high ceilings, wood beams and twinkle lights added to Alex’s romantic glam vision for the day. The Riverside All-Stars kept the dance floor packed all evening.

Says the proud mother of the bride, “I could not have asked for a more amazing day for my daughter and her new husband.”
